As one of the leading energy trading groups in Northern Europe, the Energi Danmark Group engages in physical and financial energy trading, carbon and gas trading, portfolio management, and associated trading in derivative financial instruments.

We are looking for student employees to join various areas within our Trading department, becoming integral members of our ambitious and dynamic teams. Here you will be able to get hands-on experience within the energy markets. We trade power and gas on most European markets, and we have ambitious expansion plans.

We provide comprehensive training and an introduction to the world of energy trading and the various processes and tools at Energi Danmark, and we expect that you will be proactively looking for- and suggesting opportunities for improvements and optimization.

You will experience a steep learning curve with a high level of responsibility from the beginning.

The right candidate can work under pressure, reason through logic, and is eager to learn new things every day. You are driven, think two steps ahead and live to develop yourself and continuously build on your knowledge.

Additionally, we expect you to…

  • possess strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • like to have fun while working and contribute to a positive work environment
  • be curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions
  • possess great communication skills in English as this is our corporate language
  • seek influence and responsibility and always want to improve

As mentioned, we are looking for student employees for multiple areas in our Trading department. You could be working in one or more of the following areas: Market Analysis, IT Development, Trade Support, Business Development, and Gas Trading. You are more than welcome to apply for multiple areas, if more than one piques your interest. Together, we will find the position that best matches your ambitions and our needs. Common for all the areas is that your educational background is not as important as your motivation for applying and your drive to create value.

You will become a part of a department with a focus on data handling, modelling, and forecasting of all elements of the power and commodity market. You will face plenty of opportunities to improve your data-, analytics-, and coding- skills through relevant tasks, and you will be responsible for implementing robust and efficient solutions from an early stage – with support from the rest of the team. Our most important role is to assist our traders in making the best decisions in the market.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

What it takes to succeed in Market Analysis:

  • A strong interest in data and analytics.
  • A strong skill set in at least one coding language.
  • Ability to solve tasks with a great portion of due diligence.

You will join the IT development team, responsible for creating and maintaining software for smooth and secure power trading. This involves building trading platforms, risk management tools, and integrating tech solutions to improve how the company trades power. Here you will also contribute to staying updated on new tech and market trends and regularly updating our software to stay competitive in the ever-changing power trading field.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sending requests via API’s and managing the data behind it.
  • Handling, processing, and presenting data to traders, back-office, or others.

In recent years, the team has had a significant focus on rethinking the entire support and trading structure. In turn, the team has predominately been occupied with optimizing business processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in coordinating communication between various internal departments and external stakeholders to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the trading process.
