About the Internship
As Uber continues to grow, our tax team also needs to expand to meet new business challenges. We are looking to add a motivated Tax Intern with a positive, can-do attitude to our Tax Team, based in Amsterdam.
Our team consists of a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds across consulting, tax, accounting, and analytics. We often have to employ unique approaches to overcome critical challenges.
If you are technically sharp, but have a thirst to learn more and frequently use phrases like "let's do it", "let's try that", and "we'll find an answer" then you will fit right in.
What you'll do and learn
- You’ll be engaged in tax matters for Uber in the EMEA region to deliver impactful and significant insights that drive decision-making
- Boost your tax technical expertise in international tax law matters, direct and indirect taxes
- Work with product teams to assist in new product development
- Perform relevant tax research
- Help in documenting and assessing tax requirements
- Support on projects aiming to improve global tax reporting and tax efficiency
- Stay on top of international and local tax developments in the EMEA region, analyze the impact for Uber’s business, and advise your tax team members and other relevant stakeholders accordingly
Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Tax LLM (Master of Laws) program for the full duration of the internship
- At least two-three years of relevant tax experience before enrolling in Tax LLM program
- Available to start in February and can work for a duration of 6 months, with flexibility for both full-time and part-time internship positions
- Work authorisation in Netherlands - No visa sponsorship is available for internships
- You are graduating in Summer 2025
Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding of international tax, direct and/or indirect taxes
- Passion for performing tax technical analysis
- Good analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, team player, passionate, dedicated, ‘can-do’ positive attitude
