Introduction
Wafer Handling & Positioning group has a mix of mechanical and hardware engineers with varied levels of work experience. Within the group, we carry out product development and support wafer stages & wafer handlers, together with other groups for neighboring areas of expertise.
Your assignment
Docking mechanism is used as the interface between wafer handler and wafer stage modules. This creates a mechanically stiff, accurate and repeatable interface for wafer exchange. Docking mechanism has challenging requirements on precision, stroke, force, safety, wear and additional functionalities. The boundary conditions on volume and interfaces add to the challenge.
Your assignment is to design and develop a low-cost alternative to the existing design of docking mechanism.
Key deliverables include:
This is a master graduation project (thesis) for 9-12 months, minimum 4 days per week. The start date of this internship is in January 2025.
