Job description

We are seeking a significant number of flexible staff to develop a significant number of our learning 'nodes'.

Our curriculum has been developed on a model in which the majority of learning outcomes are delivered through real-world projects, underpinned by our bespoke Virtual Learning Environment - our 'Learning Tree'. The 'Learning Tree' is pivotal to our unique pedagogy and gives students access to the content of our curriculum 'just in time'. Our team of academic content developers are developing the 'Learning Tree' and its content - comprising around 500 learning 'nodes', each of which is a three-hour learning session.

We have a wide range of content to be developed in the following subject areas:

  • Business skills
  • Computing
  • Design for innovation
  • Electrical engineering
  • Engineering skills
  • Maths and physics
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Professional skills
  • Structural engineering
  • Systems engineering
These roles report into the curriculum lead (technology enhanced learning) and will work collaboratively across the organisation to facilitate the delivery of our overall learning tree.

This is an exciting time to join us and play a significant part in shaping and developing our curriculum content and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Variety and ambiguity is the way of life at TEDI-London

In a start-up, each day really is different. We work collaboratively at TEDI-London on big decisions, but also need individuals that take initiative and have the skills and experience to manage their own work areas. We are a start-up with huge ambition, but you should not expect to join an organisation with all the answers, and everything mapped out. That is what we need you for, to be part of our journey.

You will not have a huge team and infrastructure in place. One day you might be writing a strategy or paper for the board - another you might be proofreading a letter. You will relish the chance to be in a new organisation with a world of possibilities where you can genuinely see the value that you add on a daily basis. The team you work with will be from different functions and levels - all united in one goal -to make TEDI-London a success.

  • Hours of work: variable and flexible, based around delivery of our node content to agreed deadlines.
  • Contract: variable and flexible
We would be delighted if you review the Job Description, Values, Terms and Conditions and Proposition Document which are available here. We have provided a video of the recruiting manager discussing this current vacancy here and a live Zoom Q & A session on Eventbrite session is available for any questions that you may have.

What we are looking for

  • Overall you must be able to demonstrate an affinity and style of approach in line with our values.
  • Developing and delivering innovative curriculum content to a high standard
  • Excellent communication, organisation and team working skills
  • Understanding of students and Higher Education
  • Ability to understand a number of perspectives and to bring new thinking to a situation with flexibility in approach
  • Real passion for teaching, learning and maximising the student experience
  • You will be able to demonstrate a creative style of approach to curriculum development and an affinity with the transformation of engineering education we are working to deliver for our students.
  • We are looking for people who think and deliver in an innovative way. We will be looking for you to use your skills and knowledge in ways you may not even have thought about yet.
