Main missions

The Microgrid Line of Business is developing microgrid control solutions including EMS (Energy Management System), PMS (Power Management System), Microgrid architectures and Energy Control Centres.

EMS solution (Ecostruxure Microgrid Advisor-EMA) is a cloud-based service offer that optimizes energy profile according to energy tariffs and markets, such reduction energy-related costs with load shifting (from high to low tariff time) or peak shaving. The service is delivered automatically using artificial intelligence for energy usage/production forecast and flexibility management. Nevertheless, it requires professional services for its implementation and operational services of the IoT infrastructure that connects the customer DER to the cloud platform.

PMS solution (Ecostruxure Microgrid Operation-EMO) is an edge solution made of automation algorithms hosted within a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or an iPC (industrial computer). Those algorithm enable to perform the SoO (Sequence of Operations) of a microgrid.

Those 2 components are delivered under ETO mode (Engineering To Order) or CTO (Configure To Order) mode.

The mission of the microgrid Support Engineer are:

1/ to support the Field Engineers during the implementation of local IoT infrastructure (box, gateway), manage the cloud configuration and fine tune the automation algorithms on edge.

2/ to monitor the end-to-end performance of the system and alert in case of loss of performance. Work with the Global support team in France to solve the issue and guarantee customer satisfaction

3/ To gather the evolution requirements from the field in order to feed the product R&D roadmap, implement some of these R&D evolutions and participate in innovation pilot projects if any.

4/ To train and support Schneider Electric partners to take in hand those solutions for CTO part of the business

The team is based out of HOUSTON, USA. Due to current VISA restrictions in place in the US, the VIE will start working during 2021 from the office in Seville, Spain

Education: Engineer Master Degree (BAC +5)

Technical Field: Software engineer with knowledge and/or interest in the Energy sector, or, Electrical engineer with knowledge in cloud and embedded software technologies
