As the size and the complexity of the Industrial Merchants (IM) is growing, we have reorganized the department over the last two years.
Air Liquide Benelux Industries (ALBI) IM legal structure is still evolving as we are integrating new entities (recent acquisition of Hatek in April 2022) while ensuring that the previous acquisitions are well incorporated so far (ICS, Cryotainer, ALC, Scott).Besides that, the growing Business Line "H2E" requires more attention as it has an increasing need for investment to support their growth.
On top of that, the Management has put a strong focus on the profitability (vertical ratios) and scrutinized all the spendings. Therefore, we want to involve the investment controller way more in the controlling tasks to help the team during the high peaks. Part of his role would also be to help the Commercial teams with adapted tools to ease their quotations and challenge the expected profits vs the reality.
Presentation of the team and business activities:
Current structure of ALBI IM business controlling team is the following:
- IM/H2E Head of Business Control: 100% dedication, manages the team (PG and Bulk controllers, and GEX/PEX controller). He was onboarded in March 2022 and is responsible for the full P&L, consolidation and reporting to the upper management.
- IM Bulk Business Controller: 100% dedication, in charge of BOS business. He was onboarded in August 2023 and was previously already working for a few years for the Finance department (Liège) as an external consultant.
- IM PG Business Controller: 100% dedication, in charge of PG business. He joined the department in September 2022 and was a former Sales Analyst in the Digital team, and has therefore good affinity with BI system (Wave).
- GEX and PEX controller: 50% dedication, former HR administration specialist focused on General and Personal expenses control and is 'shared' between IM and LI business lines.

You will strongly contribute to:
- End-to-End management of investment control procedures from opening to closure of credits in line with existing investment policy of the affiliate;
- Digitalization of Investments reporting (Power BI); - Compliance to Group Investment control rules;
- Quarterly reporting of the investments into the Group system/ERP;; - Close daily collaboration with commercial team on investment queries;
- Weekly reporting of investment orders status with related KPIs and their interpretation;
- Calculation and follow-up of profitability of Investment and Sold projects at project level;
- Variance / gap analysis of investment decisions vs Actuals, Reforecasts, Targets; - Participation in the process of Reforecast and Target;
- Verify and challenge the investment projects; - Portfolio analysis to improve the profitability per customer;
- Supporting the Business Control during the closing
