One of our portfolio companies is building an AI agent dedicated to statutory audit, with a clear ambition: reduce repetitive work and give auditors more time for judgment, challenge, and client value. At this early stage, they're looking for a seasoned audit professional, available as soon as possible, to help shape the product from the inside, so it reflects the reality of the field rather than an abstract specification.
You will work closely with a small team combining accounting expertise and artificial intelligence, and your perspective will directly influence the first versions of the product. Your role is not to observe from the sidelines, but to help define what should be built, how it should work, and where automation can create real value without compromising audit rigor.
This is a high-impact consulting collaboration for someone who enjoys turning operational know-how into product decisions. You will help map key workflows, prioritize the first use cases to automate, and challenge product choices as the tool takes shape.
Based in Paris and partly on site, this role offers strong proximity to the team and a direct voice in the direction of an emerging AI product for a regulated profession. The collaboration format — consulting, BSA, or another arrangement — will be defined together based on your situation and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Map the core workflows involved in statutory audit and identify the most consequential pain points.
- Help define which workflow should be automated first based on operational value and feasibility.
- Review early product concepts and challenge product decisions to ensure they fit real audit practice and remain compliant-minded.
- Translate field experience into clear, actionable product guidance for the team.
Ideal Profile
- Qualified CPA, French DEC, or CAFCAC equivalent, registered with the relevant professional body.
- Early/mid-career profile post-qualification — typically 6 to 10 years in statutory audit — rather than a senior partner profile. You have personally run full audit engagements on SME or mid-cap mandates.
- Strong ability to analyze operational workflows and translate them into practical product requirements.
- Genuine interest in AI, automation, and modern audit tools.
- Hands-on familiarity with audit or productivity tools such as DataSnipper, Caseware, Silverfin, or equivalent solutions.
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to challenge product choices constructively.
- Available as soon as possible, from September, on site in Paris at least two days per week.
