For Frederik Bangnowski, the answer was never really in doubt.

Ever since he was a kid, science fascinated him. He was the one asking questions, eager to understand how things work and dreaming about contributing to discoveries that could make a real difference. Today, through an industrial PhD program at Boehringer Ingelheim, that curiosity has become his career.

As part of the company's drug discovery research, Frederik helps identify potential new therapies using high-throughput screening, an automated technology that enables scientists to test thousands of compounds quickly and efficiently. But for him, it's about more than technology. It's about being part of something bigger: the search for treatments that could one day improve patients' lives.


No two days look exactly alike. One day, he's designing experiments and preparing cell cultures. The next, he's programming laboratory equipment, analyzing data, or discussing results with experts from different disciplines. It's a role that combines scientific depth, innovation, and collaboration.
