Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate German (B1) and advanced English language skills
Bachelor student graduating in 2027 or 2028 OR
Master student graduating in 2028, OR
Gap year between your bachelor and masters degree
Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships)
Availability for a full-time 3 – 6 month internship; see start date for more details

Start Date

This internship is available for a length of between 3 and 6 months, starting on any date between 18 January and 30 April 2027. If you are not available during this period, please apply for a Summer & Fall 2027 Internship instead. Those applications open in mid-September 2026.

About the DWS Internship

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. This is an excellent way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.

About the Team

The Investment Sustainability and Stewardship team seeks to protect the long-term value of clients' investments through active ownership. We use DWS's voice as a global investor to engage constructively with boards and senior management on business practices and corporate governance, and exercise our shareholder voting rights. Drawing on our research and insights, and working closely with investment and research teams, we analyse material trends, risks and opportunities across companies, sectors and markets to identify factors that may affect long-term shareholder value. Together with our DWS Product and Coverage teams we develop bespoke stewardship solutions that reflect the objectives and preferences of institutional clients.

As our DWS Intern, you will:

Analyse companies and sectors to identify relevant trends, risks and opportunities
Support stewardship activities by turning research and data into clear, actionable insights
Help develop and refine analytical frameworks, assessment methodologies and data-driven tools
Prepare company profiles and engagement materials, and support engagements from preparation through to follow-up
Explore how technology, automation and AI can improve research, analysis and team processes

The Team is looking for:

Intermediate German (B1) and advanced (C1) English language skills
Proactive and solution-oriented team player with a strong sense of ownership
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex information and communicate clear, actionable insights
Interest in company, sector and macroeconomic developments, ideally supported by basic knowledge of ESG and sustainable finance
Studies in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field
Good Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Python, data analysis, automation or AI tools is an advantage
