At House of ABY, we are launching a brand-new software development team in Barcelona to support one of our key clients, a global leader in energy technology.

We are looking for a Tech Lead who wants to join us from day one, take ownership of the technical direction and help us build a high-performing engineering team from scratch.

What will you do?

Lead & grow the team

Help recruit and build a team of five engineers.
Define technical standards, development practices and ways of working.
Mentor engineers and lead code reviews.
Create a strong engineering culture focused on quality, ownership and continuous improvement.

Own the technical architecture

Design scalable, secure and resilient AWS architectures.
Define high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Lead threat modeling and embed security into the architecture from the beginning.
Drive technical decisions across Python, React and AWS.
Translate complex requirements into clear architecture diagrams and technical roadmaps.

Bring software into an industrial environment

Integrate software risk management into NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
Contribute to FMEA activities and ensure software solutions meet industrial safety and reliability requirements.
Champion DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and reliable deployments.
Collaborate within a SAFe environment, including PI Planning and cross-team coordination.

Become a technical partner

Act as the technical point of contact between the development team and international stakeholders.
Understand engineering and business needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.
Balance architecture, delivery, security, reliability and business priorities.

What does our recruitment process look like?

First call with the Talent Acquisition team.
Interview to learn more about your functional and technical experience.
Technical interview with the team responsible for the project.
Final meeting with the client.

What are we looking for?

8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a Tech Lead or technical leadership position.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Python and React.
Solid experience designing architectures in AWS.
Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
Previous experience working in industrial or engineering environments.
Knowledge of NPI processes and FMEA methodology.
Experience designing solutions around high availability and disaster recovery.
Understanding of security architecture and threat modeling.
Experience with SAFe or another scaled Agile framework.
Ability to communicate architecture and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Fluent English and confidence working in international environments.

The salary for this position ranges from € 55.000 to € 65.000 gross per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.
