At GE Vernova, we are tackling some of the world's most challenging energy problems. Joining our team means you will work on technology that powers the world, surrounded by people who are committed to safety, innovation, and sustainability. We believe that diverse perspectives drive the best solutions; that is why we foster an inclusive environment where your voice is heard, your curiosity is encouraged, and your professional development is a priority. We offer the opportunity to take true technical ownership of complex hardware while working alongside world-class experts who are dedicated to mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and

You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure our designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a balance of technical ownership, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines.
  • Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
  • Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
  • A "Lean" mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and a passion for innovative design.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem-solving.
