Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious individual to support the commercial and technical management of our on-site projects. The role involves overseeing all on-site activities to ensure tasks are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, following the Veolia Minimum Requirement (VMR). Sites will be located in the West, Midlands, and North West regions, depending on current projects. On smaller sites,the role may also include acting as a First Aider or Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator.

Day to Day Role:
  • Support the planning, management, and monitoring of construction work while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Assist with understanding project documentation, schedules, and construction methods.
  • Help coordinate daily tasks and activities, ensuring they follow safety and quality standards.
  • Check that equipment is safe and inspected as needed.
  • Assist in reviewing safety plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Promote positive safety practices and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Communicate daily updates with supervisors, workers, and contractors.
  • Monitor project progress and report any risks or issues to the project manager.
  • Maintain a quality log to track subcontractor work and ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Conduct basic safety checks and support health and safety audits as directed.
  • Ensure workers receive a site-specific induction and that training records are kept up to date.
  • Help manage subcontractor performance and escalate issues when needed.
  • Look for ways to improve efficiency and reduce project timelines.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and project management plans.


Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • Understanding of water industry construction methods and equipment (preferred).
  • Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary site team, including trades and
    subcontractors.
  • Strong leadership skills, promoting health and safety on site.
  • Clear and professional communication style.
  • Excellent relationship-building and team management abilities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to resolve issues efficiently.
