Strong responsibilities
Planning & Literature Review:
- Survey existing research on multi-motor torque merging, drivetrain dynamics, gearbox backlash, and control synchronization
Model Adaptation:
- Update/extend existing MTU simulation models for dual-EPU operation, including FCS behavior, gearbox elasticity, and torque-control coordination
Simulation-Based Analysis
- Analyze torque imbalance, transient mismatch, oscillations, backlash effects, torsional dynamics, and load-sharing
- Documentation & Recommendations
- Summarize critical findings, propose mitigation strategies (control or mechanical), and deliver structured documentation
Ideal qualifications
- Engineering student (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechatronics)
- interest in electric drives, controls, or drivetrain dynamics
- Simscapce/Simulink beneficial
