Job Description

Whitin the Liability-Driven Investing Unit, the Indirect & Alternative Investments team is responsible for analysing and implementing indirect investment strategies and for executing tactical asset allocation decisions across the fixed income and equity universe relevant to its remit. It ensures smooth and efficient management of assigned portfolios by carrying out all operational activities in line with internal guidelines, prospectuses, regulations and defined targets. The team conducts ex-ante assessments of investment choices, verifying compliance with limits and performing all preliminary checks on order pre-allocation - including reviews related to conflicts of interest, suitability and related-party considerations - for the asset classes under its responsibility. It manages the pre-allocation and notification of orders to the Trading Desk for the instruments within its scope. It also analyses ex-post portfolio results, such as performance, volatility and tracking error, drawing on the insights produced by Risk Management. In addition, the team prepares reports and documentation required by the Head of the LDI structure and maintains clear, traceable records of key selection and investment decisions to ensure full transparency and auditability.

We are looking for a motivated intern to support the Indirect & Alternative Investments team in the analysis, monitoring and management of indirect alternative investments, with a specific focus on Real Estate and Private Equity funds.

The internship will provide exposure to investment processes, portfolio monitoring, due diligence activities and interactions with external asset managers, offering an excellent opportunity to develop technical and analytical skills within a leading institutional investor environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team in the evaluation and monitoring of Real Estate and Private Equity investment opportunities.
  • Assist in the collection, review and analysis of financial, operational and market information.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment and portfolio monitoring reports.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and materials for internal committees and stakeholders.
  • Monitor documentation and periodic reporting received from external fund managers.
  • Assist in portfolio management activities, including performance tracking and data analysis.
  • Support the investment and divestment process from an operational and analytical perspective.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with external asset managers, advisors and internal stakeholders


Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Finance / Economics / Engineering with Business orientation
  • Good understanding of financial markets and investment principles.
  • Strong interest in Real Estate, Private Equity and alternative investments.
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
