Job Description

Banca Generali (www.bancagenerali.com) is a leading Italian bank in wealth management, private banking and investment banking, with a highly skilled network of financial advisors.

The Bank is currently undergoing a major transformation, with AI at the core of its strategy to drive innovation and generate measurable business impact across the organization.

The AI Factory is the central team leading the bank's AI transformation.

The team operates in a cross-functional way across all business units to:

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases
  • Design, build and deliver scalable AI solutions
  • Drive AI adoption, governance and strategy


The team manages the full lifecycle of AI initiatives, from identifying business opportunities to the development, release and measurement of impact.

Its goal is to build and orchestrate AI products, AI agents and smart automation that enhance productivity, efficiency and quality of work, both for the bank and for its network of financial advisors.

Through collaboration with the top management and all the business units the team ensures that internal data, knowledge and AI are leveraged to enhance customer experiences, optimize internal processes, and maintain a competitive edge in the evolving financial landscape.

At the same time, the team continuously run innovation scouting activities, exploring new AI technologies, capabilities, frameworks and use cases relevant to the banking & finance context.

Banca Generali is looking for an AI Product Manager to work closely with the Head of AI and act as a key operational lead in turning AI opportunities into concrete solutions for the bank.

The role involves end-to-end ownership of AI initiatives, from business case definition to project management, delivery, governance, adoption and impact monitoring.

The AI Factory team is looking for a highly execution-oriented profile, with project management skills, a hands-on approach to AI tools, strong autonomy and proactivity, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving technological environment.

The successful candidate will perform the following activities:

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic objectives
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating business needs into scalable AI use cases and solutions
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities where AI can drive efficiency, improve decision-making and enhance customer and employee experience
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI initiatives, from concept to deployment, governance, adoption and impact monitoring
  • Contribute directly to the experimentation and prototyping of AI products (agents, automation, solutions) ensuring compliance with regulatory, security and ethical standards
  • Drive AI adoption across the organization, supporting change management and maximizing business impact
  • Contribute proactively to the evolution of the bank's AI strategy, technical stack and initiatives
  • Continuously monitor AI trends and technologies, evaluating their relevance and applicability in the banking & financial context


Requirements

Must have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, business management, economics, or a related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in product management, innovation, consulting, or business-tech roles
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end AI initiatives (e.g. agents, automation, RAG, orchestration, vibe-code, low-code or custom solutions)
  • Strong ability to bridge business and technology, working effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of state-of-the-art AI technologies (LLMs, machine learning, data modeling, knowledge management, context engineering, etc.), with a focus on practical applications
  • Experience building AI business cases and defining / tracking KPIs
  • Proven hands-on experience with AI and automation tools, including prototyping or solution development
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Data & AI ecosystem (Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Platform, Power Automate, Power BI, Fabric)
  • Hands-on experience with leading AI platforms and tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity) and their practical applications
  • Fluency in English and Italian


Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in fintech, banking, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with AI governance, ethical considerations, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. AI Act)
  • Exposure to agile development methodologies and tools for managing AI projects
  • Experience with analytics platforms, cloud computing, or big data technologies
  • Knowledge of the AI startup ecosystem
