As a Global Mobility Intern, you will support multinational employers and their internationally mobile employees on Luxembourg personal tax, employment tax and social security matters. Working with clients and colleagues across our global network, you will contribute to compliance and advisory assignments involving international assignments, cross-border working arrangements and employee reward. Through real client work, coaching and feedback, you will build practical knowledge of mobility rules and develop skills in technical research, tax calculations, data analysis, drafting, client communication and cross-border teamwork. You will also gain exposure to tax and mobility technologies, preparing you for a career in global mobility, personal or employment tax, social security, payroll or broader people advisory services.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Support the preparation of advice on personal tax, employment tax, payroll, social security and reward matters arising from international assignments and cross-border working arrangements.
  • Assist with analyzing employment structures and their Luxembourg tax and social security implications, including relevant market practices and regulatory developments.
  • Assist with the preparation of Luxembourg individual income tax returns, tax equalization calculations and social security assessments for internationally mobile employees, and support related client queries.
  • Prepare Luxembourg individual income tax calculations and comparative tax estimates, taking account of the cross-border circumstances of internationally mobile employees.
  • Coordinate with Vialto colleagues in other jurisdictions to support the consistent application of international tax treaties and social security rules.
  • Contribute to technical research, client meetings and the preparation of clear presentations, calculations and written advice.

Qualifications

  • You will soon complete a Master’s degree in Law or Economics. Any specialization in Tax is an asset.
  • You have a strong interest in personal tax, employment tax, social security and international mobility, and you are keen to develop both compliance and advisory skills.
  • You enjoy working in teams and look for an open-minded and friendly environment.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and are willing to learn new tax and mobility technologies.
  • You are fluent in English and French; German or Luxembourgish is an advantage.
  • You have an appetite for numbers and for contact with people from all over the globe.
  • You are analytical, accurate and organized, with strong written communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • You have a drive and dynamism that contributes to the team spirit.
