Almost one in four startup failures come down to not having the right people. Get them right and nearly anything is possible. Get them wrong and it can end a startup's journey altogether.

At The Hub, we've helped startups recruit for a decade. 15,000 startups, nearly 100,000 jobs posted, 3 million applications, an estimated 50,000 hires facilitated, 850,000 candidate profiles, and 10,000 daily active users. We're the brand Nordic talent and founders already trust.

Recruiting is two jobs in one: finding the right people and convincing them to join, and guiding the founders betting everything on the answer. What's changed is who's great at it. The recruiters who thrive now have the same creative, design-thinking minds and real passion for people as the ones who came before. But they also run several searches, several client relationships, and the hunt for new customers at once, at a scale that used to take a whole team. They pull it off by building their own tools and letting AI carry the load. That scale is what we make possible here, and it's why this role isn't for everyone.

On top of the platform we run a recruitment service: when a startup can't wait for the right person to apply, we go find them. We recently closed an angel round, backed by world-class Nordic founders from companies like Superside, Tise, Kahoot and Firi, and we're using it to rebuild that service AI-native.

You'd be one of the people delivering that human-in-the-loop service while we rebuild it, building tools of your own as you go. We're hiring a CTO and an engineer in parallel to rebuild the platform itself, so the product underneath the service is being rebuilt right alongside you. We need someone who can run scrappy with what we have today, help shape the rebuild from real front-line experience, and be elevated by it as we keep innovating on the product.

Opportunity
This isn't a role for someone who just wants to learn recruitment. It's for a commercial, technical hustler: someone hungry to use AI to become the best startup recruiter in the Nordics, and to build the tools that get them there. There's no polished stack waiting for you; you build your own AI tooling from day one. We'll teach you the craft. You bring the commercial drive, the technical instinct, and the hustle.

You'll own delivery under Scout and Max, The Hub's human-in-the-loop services for companies that need more than a job listing. That means real searches for real startups: C-level commercial roles, mid-level engineering roles, and everything in between, all over the Nordics. You'll work directly with founders at some of the most exciting companies coming out of the region, and build a serious network while you do it. We'll show you how we do things today and back you through the first few projects - then you own them outright. Fast. Not just running the service, but growing it and making it better.

It's the kind of role that teaches you three things at once (sales, recruiting, and AI tooling) inside a company that's rebuilding itself around exactly those skills.

And underneath all the AI, this is a job about people. You'll be close to founders and candidates at decisive moments in their lives, and we believe they deserve real warmth, real respect, and someone who cares how it turns out for them. We're hiring for that as seriously as we're hiring for the building.

What you'll do
Find your own customers. Spot the Nordic startups that are hiring, reach out, and bring them onto the service. You'll use AI to research, target, and write outreach that doesn't read like a template, then get on the call and close it.

Run real searches. Source, screen, and shortlist candidates for the startups and scale-ups you're working. We'll teach you what good hiring actually looks like; you'll do it faster than people with twice your experience because of how you work.

Build your own tools. Your own LinkedIn sourcing agent so you can run three searches at once. A workflow that reads a brief and surfaces the five people worth a call. Whatever saves you time, you build it. And when something you've made works, we get the rest of the team using it too.

Champion our AI screener. We're building AI to screen candidates, and we'll keep developing it. You'll be the person who cares most about it and how it works under the hood, partnering with our engineers to make it good enough to ship to every startup on The Hub, not just Scout and Max customers, and pushing to make it better long after that.

Stay on top of more than you should be able to. Juggle several roles and clients at once, keep founders updated, move candidates through fast. AI is how a junior person carries a load that used to need someone senior.

Learn out loud. Keep up with how Nordic startups hire and what talent wants, and bring the new AI tricks you find back to the team.

Who you are
  • You build with AI, and you can show it. A tool, a workflow, an app, an automation, an agent. It doesn't matter what it does or how polished it is. It matters that you made it work and can walk us through it.
  • You're comfortable building from day one. You don't wait for someone to hand you a tool. When you hit a repetitive task, your first instinct is to automate it.
  • You're kind, and it's not an act. Warm, charismatic, curious about what makes people tick. The kind of person a nervous candidate relaxes around and a founder trusts with a hard hire. This sits at the core of the role, and it matters to us as much as anything on this list.
  • You've got hustle. You're happy chasing a target, hearing no, and going again. Some of this job is sales, and that lights you up rather than scares you.
  • You want to learn fast and go deep. We lean toward people earlier in their career - a recent grad, a career-switcher, or someone who's been building on the side and wants to go pro - but it's about hunger and ability, not years on a CV. A recruiting background is a plus, not a requirement.
  • You're brilliant and you run without being managed. Confident enough to come in, take the wheel, and own outcomes from day one. We won't micromanage you, and you're the type of person that would hate it if we did.
  • You've got the Nordic context. Strong English plus at least one Nordic language (Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish).


You're not a fit if
  • You can't point to anything you've actually built with AI.
  • You want a script and a manager who tells you exactly what to do every day.
  • Selling makes you squirm. Part of this job is winning your own customers.
  • You think AI is hype.

  • Base plus uncapped commission: A competitive base (DKK 30,000 to 40,000 per month depending on experience) and uncapped commission on top. The more you place, the more you make.

Recruitment process
  • Step 1: Apply through The Hub. Leave your LinkedIn and answer two quick questions. That's it!
  • Step 2: Intro call with Ellen (Head of Operations and Customer Success) to talk about you, your work, and what drives you (20-30 minutes).
  • Step 3: Conversation with Thomas (CEO): the commercial side, how we work, and whether this is the right bet for both of us.


We're accepting applications throughout July and will screen continuously throughout the summer. We expect interviews to commence in early August.
