Complete your internship in Cape Town (South Africa) or Eswatini and use your skills in communications, marketing, or content creation to support a local NGO. This international experience allows you to gain valuable professional experience while contributing to high-impact social projects and supporting local communities.

Working in an English-speaking professional environment, you will help promote the organisation's initiatives and increase its visibility. Depending on your profile, you may also support local micro-enterprises in developing their activities and strengthening their economic opportunities.

Your Missions

  • Create and manage social media content calendars.
  • Produce photo, video, and multimedia content to promote the NGO's projects.
  • Write articles, blog posts, and other communication materials.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of websites.
  • Support SEO and digital marketing strategies.
  • Design communication materials, including flyers, posters, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Conduct market research and contribute to the development of marketing campaigns.
  • Interview local teams and showcase their work to partners and donors.
  • Depending on the organisation's needs, support local micro-entrepreneurs in developing their businesses through communications, marketing, website creation, or business strategy.

Tasks are adapted to your academic background, skills, and the needs of the host organisations. A certain level of independence is expected, allowing you to suggest ideas, develop projects, and actively contribute to the organisation's communication strategy.

Profile

This internship is particularly suitable for students in communications, marketing, digital media, photography, audiovisual production, or content creation who are looking to gain international professional experience while contributing to meaningful and sustainable projects.

Additional Information

This internship is unpaid. In the vast majority of countries, there is no legal requirement to provide financial compensation to interns. Our partner host organisations operate within different local economic and legal frameworks, where hosting international interns is based on training and cultural exchange rather than remuneration.

Accommodation, meals, and transportation costs are paid before your departure. This advance payment allows RealStep to confirm and secure all your accommodation and local services with our partners before your arrival, ensuring that all logistics are already in place before you leave.
