At CheapSleep Hostel we are currently offering internship opportunities in the position of receptionist, bar & event trainee mid/end August and in September 2026.

As one of our trainees, you will have the chance to work in an international team of young professionals and develop your knowledge of the hospitality industry, as well as enhance your customer service skills, all while creating lasting memories for our guests and working towards our company goal of creating the best hostel in Finland.

What will you be doing?

As a Receptionist, bar & event trainee, you would be responsible for our front desk activities, our hostel bar, as well as helping with and hosting hostel events.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks::

Checking guests in and out.
Handling emails, messages & phone calls.
Handling reservations & payments.
Responding to guest inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
Helping guests with directions & recommendations
Solving any issues a guest may have while staying with us.
Selling and serving alcoholic beverages at the hostel bar.
Helping out during hostel events and hosting hostel events yourself.
Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary and maintain a positive working relationship.

What do we require from you?:

You are a student who will gain academic credits for the internship.
You have a high level of spoken and written English language skills.
You are willing to work morning, evening and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
You have the Finnish Alcohol Passport (anniskelupassi). Note: This can be obtained during the internship for applicants from outside of Finland.
You are able to complete an internship for a minimum of 3 months (longer periods are very welcome).
You are willing to learn and constantly improve.
You are a responsible, proactive, flexible person with problem solving skills.
You are a social, outgoing and talkative person with a passion for the hostel industry.
