[NanoIC topic] Topological protected textures stabilized by advanced patterning

Magnetic skyrmions arenanoscale, topologically protected spin structures that are expected to bestable even in the presence of defects and thermal noise. Their tiny size andability to move with extremely low electric currents make them promising candidates for high-dense,energy-efficient data storage and racetrack-style memory devices. They arebeing explored for low-power information-processing technologies such as spintronic logic, neuromorphic computing, and quantum-computing. Although this gives the promising abilities for future technologies, there areseveralchallenges to be overcome before introducing this magnetic bit to the real devices.Stabilization is one primary issue for the development. In imec, we target tosolve this issue based on the advance patterning technology thanking to our state-of-the-artinfrastructure and long-term experiments in nanofabrication. The offeredposition will put you in the middle of the challenges to bring the magneticskyrmions in applications.
