This construction engineering internship in Thailand gives students the opportunity to participate in eco-construction projects with a strong focus on cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. Supervised by industry professionals, interns discover sustainable construction techniques adapted to tropical climates while exchanging knowledge about European and local building practices.

Interns will notably contribute to the restoration of a historic building over 125 years old and to the development of a cultural and ecological space on Phi Phi Island. The project includes bamboo construction, water and waste management infrastructure, and community facilities.

Your Missions

  • Participate in the restoration and construction of buildings using natural materials such as wood, bamboo, terracotta, and stone.
  • Carry out finishing and installation work, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, and interior improvements.
  • Design and implement sustainable water management and waste treatment systems.
  • Contribute to the construction of sustainable infrastructure, including a plastic recycling centre using pyrolysis technology.
  • Develop outdoor areas and contribute to landscaping projects.
  • Learn about the principles of eco-construction and tropical building techniques in collaboration with local teams.

The internship involves approximately 35 to 40 hours per week and provides valuable hands-on experience for students looking to develop their technical skills in sustainable construction, project management, and environmental innovation within an international context.

Additional Information

This internship is unpaid. In the vast majority of countries, there is no legal requirement to provide financial compensation to interns. Our partner host organisations operate within different local economic and legal frameworks, where hosting international interns is based on training and cultural exchange rather than remuneration.

Accommodation, meals, and transportation costs are paid before your departure. This advance payment allows RealStep to confirm and secure all your accommodation and local services with our partners before your arrival, ensuring that all logistics are already in place before you leave.
