Dell Technologies has grown tremendously since its early beginnings. The story started in 1984, when Michael Dell—then a freshman at the University of Texas—founded PC’s Limited with just $1,000 and a  vision for how technology should be designed.

Only a year later, he introduced Dell's first computer, the Turbo PC, which helped redefine the personal computing experience. By 1995, Dell was expanding rapidly around the world, with new operations across Europe, Asia, Japan, and the Americas.

Since then, Dell expanded into servers, storage, and networking, laying the foundation for the enterprise solutions we offer today. In 2013, Dell went private to focus on long‑term innovation, which set the stage for a major milestone in 2016: the acquisition of EMC and the launch of Dell Technologies, establishing us as a global leader in IT infrastructure.

The momentum continued. In 2023, Dell introduced the world’s broadest GenAI infrastructure portfolio, and in 2024, we launched the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA—the first comprehensive end‑to‑end AI solution helping organizations accelerate their AI strategies.
