  • Your internship starts here: How to make your application stand out

Looking for a 6-month internship starting in January? Whether you're passionate about marketing, communication, product development, digital, retail or another area, this is the perfect time to start preparing your application. At Estée Lauder Companies, we offer a wide range of internship opportunities across our brands and teams. Our January internship positions are usually published from September onwards, so make sure you're ready when the opportunities go live. Here are our top tips to help you stand out from the crowd. 6 Months. One Great Opportunity. Are You Ready to Apply? 1. Keep an eye on our job offers Our January internship offers are published from September onwards on JobTeaser. New opportunities may be posted throughout the recruitment period, so don't hesitate to check our page regularly. Take the time to read each job description carefully. Look beyond the job title and focus on the missions, responsibilities and skills required. This will help you identify the opportunities that genuinely match your profile and interests. 2. Make sure your CV is up to date Your CV is your first opportunity to make a strong impression, so make sure it is clear, concise and up to date. For our international environment, we recommend submitting your CV in English at a minimum. Before applying, check that your CV includes: Your up-to-date contact details Your current degree and expected graduation date Your previous experiences, including internships, part-time jobs or relevant projects Your key skills and languages Your availability and preferred internship period, if relevant And most importantly: adapt your CV to the position you're applying for. Highlight the experiences and skills that are most relevant to the role. Applying for a Marketing position? Put your marketing experience and relevant projects forward. Interested in Product Development? Make sure your analytical, project management or product-related experience is easy to identify. 3. Do your research Before applying, take a few minutes to learn about the brand and the role. Estée Lauder Companies is home to a diverse portfolio of prestige beauty brands, each with its own identity, heritage and consumer universe. Showing that you understand the brand you're applying to can make a real difference. Ask yourself: Why this brand? Why this position? Why this team? The more specific your application is, the more convincing it will be. 4. A cover letter? Only if you have something to say A cover letter is not mandatory, but if you choose to include one, make it count. Avoid sending the same generic letter to every company or every position. Instead, write a personalized and targeted message that explains why you're interested in this specific opportunity and what you could bring to the team. A short, relevant and genuine message is much more effective than a long, generic one. 5. Don't apply to everything It may be tempting to apply to every internship you see, but this is not necessarily the best strategy. If you apply to many positions across completely different fields at the same time, it can make it difficult for recruiters to understand what you are actually looking for. Our advice? Choose a clear area or a few closely related fields that genuinely interest you, such as Marketing & Communication, Product Development, Digital, Retail or Finance, and focus your applications accordingly. Quality over quantity: a well-targeted application is more impactful than ten generic ones. 6. Pay attention to the details Before clicking "Apply", take a final moment to proofread everything. Check your spelling, make sure your CV is attached and correctly named, and ensure that your contact details are accurate. These small details can make a big difference in your application. Also, make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date. Recruiters may look at your online presence, so this is a great opportunity to showcase your interests, experiences and professional journey. 7. Let your personality come through We recruit skills, but we also recruit people. Don't be afraid to show what motivates you, what you're curious about and what makes you interested in the beauty industry. Whether you're passionate about creativity, innovation, consumer insights, product development or brand storytelling, make sure your application reflects your genuine interests. The best applications are those where we can understand who you are, what you are looking for and why you would like to join us. Ready to take the next step? If you're looking for a 6-month internship starting in January, start preparing now. Our internship offers will be published from September onwards, so keep an eye on the Estée Lauder Companies JobTeaser page and get your CV ready.
