For B2C Belgium, we are currently looking for a Young Graduate Data Engineer!

YOUR JOB

As a Graduate Data Engineer, you will contribute to designing, building and industrialising data solutions that support One BtoC's digital transformation roadmap.

Depending on your assignments, your responsibilities may include:

  • Contribute to the deployment of the Data & AI strategy within the digital transformation programme;
  • Support the design and implementation of modern data architectures (e.g. Data Lake, automated pipelines, data products, ...);
  • Participate in proofs of concept and industrialization of selected use cases with high business impact;
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Owners, IT architects, Cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders;
  • Design, implement and monitor batch and/or streaming pipelines (e.g. medallion architecture: Bronze/Silver/Gold) on Databricks (Delta Lake, etc.) and other cloud data platform;
  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines for data products and analytics use cases;
  • Model high-quality, analytics-ready datasets (canonical/"gold" tables; star schemas when relevant);
  • Implement data quality checks, lineage, and documentation (Unity Catalog);
  • Optimize performance and cost associated to the transformation (partitioning, file sizing, etc.);
  • Implement robust CI/CD (git, environments, approvals) and configuration-as-code for pipelines and permissions;
  • Participate in incident management and continuous improvement of the data platform;
  • Identify, propose and implement practices using AI and Agentic to support your activity as Data engineer;
  • Ensure security & compliance: Unity Catalog, row/column security, PII tagging, auditability (supports GDPR/NIS2 expectations);
  • Collaborate with Data Modelers, BI Analyst, Data Scientists, Product Owners, IT architects, Cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders;
  • Opportunity to take on an international rotation within another One BtoC country.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Data/IT/AI, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent;
  • 0-2 years of experience (internships, apprenticeships, student jobs and VIEs are highly valued);
  • Strong interest in data engineering, digital transformation and B2C business challenges (energy, customer solutions, digital journeys, etc.);
  • Language skills: fluent in English and French or Dutch (spoken and written);
  • Interest in a career at ENGIE and willingness to take part in at least one international rotation;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong structuring and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and profiles (technical & business, different countries and cultures);
  • Curiosity, rigor and a strong results orientation;
  • Openness to change, learning and feedback in a fast-moving environment.
