As an Electronics Engineering Intern you will join our Hardware team in Bordeaux and work closely with Valentin, Hardware & Software Engineer.

Pony operates a fleet of 12,000 e-bikes and scooters deployed across 23 cities in Europe. Pony offers purposefully engineered vehicles built to withstand intensive urban use. Our hardware team continuously improves them based on field testing and operational feedback, driven by a culture of operational excellence.

We’re looking for an intern who wants to work at the intersection of data analysis, field investigations, and the development of new electronic solutions. You will contribute directly to improving fleet robustness, supporting repair operations, and bridging the gap between day-to-day field performance and electronics development. With 12,000 vehicles in daily operation, the failure patterns you help uncover and the tools you help build will have a direct, measurable impact on the fleet's reliability.

Main Responsibilities

Data analysis : You will explore onboard diagnostic data, cross-reference it with repair records to identify failure patterns and trends across the fleet. You will also build and maintain dashboards to track KPIs and vehicle performances.

Field investigations and repair : You will help lead root cause investigations into specific technical issues and contribute to the diagnostic tools, repair guides, and troubleshooting procedures used by our maintenance teams. You will work closely with field technicians to test and validate these processes under real operational conditions.

Improvements, new developments and supplier management : You will support the implementation and follow-up of new electronic improvements and solutions, help prepare technical specifications and validation reports, and take part in technical exchanges with electronic suppliers to support component-related development.

Your Profile

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a top engineering school
  • Data-driven: Strong analytical mindset, comfortable working with quantitative data to identify trends and solve real-world problems.
  • Electronics: Solid knowledge of electronics, allowing you to investigate electronic issues and support root cause analysis.
  • Organised and structured: You structure your work clearly, maintain accurate documentation, and follow through on every detail.
  • People skills: You communicate effectively and work well across teams and seniority levels. You will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Curiosity & proactivity: You ask questions, take initiative, and are genuinely eager to learn.

Hiring Process

  • Initial call with Laura, HR : a 30-minute conversation to align on expectations
  • Culture fit test : A short written exercise (10 minutes) to assess alignment with our values
  • Case study & Manager interview with Valentin, Hardware & Software Engineer :a hands-on exercise to assess your technical skills, followed by a discussion to present your results and go deeper into the role and expectations.
