  What happens when your internship falls through at the last minute?

  If you’re Julie Bosserdet, you stay open, and let something better find you. After her original offer was cancelled, a former manager shared her CV on LinkedIn. That one gesture changed everything. A recruiter at Atolls saw her profile, and even though we were hiring for a full-time position at the time, the team decided to offer her the internship anyway. She started with real responsibilities, managing her own partners, and quickly became part of the team. Later, she took time off to travel, and Atolls not only supported it, but signed her return offer before she left. Today, Julie works in a global account manager role, leading partnerships across markets, and she’s grown every step of the way. 💬 Her thoughts? “The experience at Atolls is real.   🧠 “Start running.

  That was the advice Filipe Trabbold got from his therapist in late 2021, and it changed everything. 👋 Filipe, now a Product Design Manager at Atolls, recently shared a deeply personal story with the team. It wasn’t about product launches or performance, it was about burnout, anxiety, and the slow road back to feeling like himself. At the time, the world was still deep in the pandemic. He couldn’t sleep. His energy was gone. And day by day, work felt harder to face. So when he reached out for help, the answer was simple: move your body. 🏃‍♂️ He did. First short runs to tire himself out. Then 5K, 10K, eventually a half-marathon. 🏅 But it was never really about the distance. It was about showing up. For his mental health. For himself. 💙 “Running taught me discipline, patience, focus, breathing, and most of all, how to handle my mind. It’s not just physical. It’s a mental battle too.” Filipe didn’t share this story for applause. He shared it because someone else might need to hear it. Because sometimes, the first step isn’t about goals or achievements, it’s just about breaking the cycle. We’re proud to work alongside people who bring not just talent, but honesty, empathy, and resilience to the table.   💜 Spotlight on Heike Gürtler, Product Director at Atolls

For Heike, leadership isn’t about hierarchy, it’s about empowering people to develop their skills, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential. Her approach is grounded in empathy and clarity, and it shows up in the way she builds her team, sets direction, and creates space for others to shine. Outside of work, Heike credits her two-year-old son with keeping things in balance. “He naturally pulls me away from work,” she says. “It helps me disconnect and gain a fresh perspective.” She’s also a strong advocate for a more inclusive workplace culture, one where caregiving responsibilities are equally shared, and flexibility is the norm, not the exception.   🧠 “10 interviews?! That’s either a nightmare… or the best hiring story you’ve heard all year.”

  👋 Meet Ronny, Junior Editor at mydealz, whose path to Atolls was anything but ordinary, and that’s exactly why we wanted to share it. He didn’t come from tech. He didn’t have a “perfect” CV. But he had something better: conviction, curiosity, and a real passion for helping people. Ronny went through 10 interviews before landing his current role , and no, that’s not our standard hiring process 😅. Here’s what actually happened: ➡️ He first applied for a community support role at mydealz, and didn’t get it. ➡️ But the recruiter kept him in mind. ➡️ Some time after, a new editor position opened up, and the team reached out to him. ➡️ Two processes, 10 conversations, one very committed candidate. “Most companies weren’t selective enough,” he told us. “But this one was. That told me everything I needed to know.” Ronny’s background in education, his love for writing, and his experience managing classrooms helped him connect instantly with our community-driven mission.   Yesterday was World Health Day 🌿 A moment to pause and remind ourselves that our health, both mental and physical, truly matters. At Atolls, we know that thriving at work also means taking care of ourselves outside of it. That’s why we offer things like an Employee Assistance Program for mental health support 🧠, the option to take sabbatical leave for longer breaks when needed ⏳, and a generous vacation plan to help people fully disconnect and recharge 🌴 But more than listing benefits, what really matters is that we encourage our teams to actually use them.   As we continue our Women in Leadership series, today we’re highlighting Maria Fernanda de Azevedo Antunes Diniz Junqueira, Managing Director Brazil, a leader who has been shaping Atolls from the very beginning. Maria’s journey is built on passion, resilience, and balance. As one of the first employees at Atolls, she took on the challenge of growing our presence in Latin America from the ground up. But beyond business success, what truly drives her is watching the people she leads grow and thrive. Her story is also one of balancing leadership with motherhood, a challenge she meets with intention, support, and the courage to let go of perfection. ✨ Leadership is about trust. One of the biggest lessons Maria has learned is to delegate and trust her team. Empowering others creates stronger organizations and fosters innovation. ✨ Perfection is an illusion.
