eBay at the ADAN Career Fair 2025!
Last Friday, we attended the ADAN Careers Fair in Frankfurt, and even today, we are still feeling energized and inspired by everything we experienced. At a time when many companies are scaling back their DEI efforts, we are especially proud to see eBay standing strong and continuing to invest in this crucial work. This year’s ADAN Careers day in Frankfurt marked our fourth participation, and once again, it was a powerful reminder of how crucial it is to create spaces where minorities can connect, grow, and thrive. We had the pleasure of attending alongside our colleagues Stephen Aboagye, Fassil Ghebru and Ece Ogunc, and we engaged in incredible conversations with so many talented, motivated visitors. It was truly inspiring to meet students and young professionals, including a few who moved abroad on their own, handling visas, studies, finding apartments, and navigating government systems at such a young age without family or friends for support. This experience made us reflect on the privileges many of us carry without even being aware of them and how important it is to stay mindful, empathetic, and supportive. We also had a fantastic pre-event, where Awa Said and Melissa Akinwunmi from LinkedIn shared valuable insights on how AI is shaping the future of recruiting excellence. They introduced their upcoming product, the Hiring Assistant, which will launch soon. It is designed to make recruiters’ work more efficient and free up time to focus on real, human connections. We are excited to see this tool go live soon, a great example of how technology can enhance, not replace, the human side of recruiting. A special shout-out to Alhaji Allie Bangurali and Jonas Tesfai, the inspiring founders of ADAN e.V. | Afro Diasporisches Akademisches Netzwerk (Afro-Diasporic Academics Network), for creating this community and continuing to push for visibility, equity, and opportunity for Black professionals and young Black talent. Your work changes lives. We are proud to be part of the eBay family and the ADAN e.V. | Afro Diasporisches Akademisches Netzwerk (Afro-Diasporic Academics Network) community. This work matters.
