Scam attempts on WhatsApp and Telegram

We have been made aware of a wave of scam messages being sent on WhatsApp and Telegram, in which the sender poses as companies, including JobTeaser.

On WhatsApp

Scammers may reach out with fake job offers to trick you into sharing personal details or asking for money.

We want to reassure you that your phone number is not linked to any data leak at JobTeaser.

Also, JobTeaser never uses WhatsApp for communication or recruitment. Therefore, any WhatsApp message claiming to be from JobTeaser is a scam.

If you receive such messages on WhatsApp, we recommend that you:

  • do not reply
  • do not click on any of the links that may be included
  • block the number and report the message via WhatsApp, following this process.

How to recognize a phishing message

Here are a few common red flags to help you identify phishing messages :

  • The message is unsolicited and comes from an unknown number
  • The offer seems too good to be true
  • The person is asking for money or sensitive information (resume, ID, bank details, etc.)
  • There are spelling or grammar mistakes
  • The tone feels overly casual or unprofessional

On Telegram

Some malicious accounts are offering “business tasks” supposedly paid in cryptocurrency.

JobTeaser does not have any Telegram account.

Any channel or group claiming to represent JobTeaser on Telegram is fake.
