From SMEs to global corporations, multi-trillion dollar balance sheets to those barely scraping by, every company needs accountants. True wizards of figures and Excel tables, they make sure the books are balanced. Calmly.
Fun fact
What do you think the earliest-living person on Earth did for a living – who we can identify by name? Were they a king? A warrior? Nope, he was an accountant. In his book Sapiens, historian Yuval Noah Harari tells the story of a 5,000-year-old stone tablet discovered in Mesopotamia. It reads: “29,086 measures barley 37 Kushim months”, meaning “29,086 measures of barley received over a period of 37 months. Signed: Kushim”. Kushim was someone who recorded transactions: an accountant, no less!
