The world’s first computer program was created by a woman. In 1842, English countess Ada Lovelace wrote an algorithm for the Analytical Engine, the ancestor of the modern computer. This algorithm is widely considered the first computer program in history. Today, in her honour, there’s a computer programming language called Ada.
