Our tech team is looking for a new member to help build and improve the electronics that turn our drones into precision measuring instruments.

If you enjoy hands-on hardware work in a green-tech environment and want real ownership over what you build, this could be the role for you.

About Explicit

Explicit ApS is a pioneering Danish engineering company specialising in drone-based emissions monitoring across the oil and gas, maritime, wastewater, and other industries. We deliver reliable, transparent and actionable emissions data using our patented methodology. Every measurement depends on the payload the drone carries: the boards, firmware, and sensors.

We are headquartered in Virum, Denmark, with offices in Norway, Germany and Australia. Our international team of around 30 members brings together engineering, data and environmental expertise, united by a shared mission to make a difference in emissions monitoring.

About the role
  • Develop payload firmware that communicates with our drone systems (MAVLink / DJI) and the onboard gas sensors.
  • Help bring new gas sensors from datasheet to bench to flight.
  • Improve and fix existing payloads, diagnose issues on the bench and in-flight data, harden the firmware, and ship the fix.
  • Build small interface and breakout PCBs in KiCad, from assembly and bring-up through to your own revisions.
  • Potential for CAD and other mechanical work, depending on your qualifications.

About you
  • A bachelor's degree or similar/higher in electronics, robotics, computer engineering, mechatronics, physics or similar.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience, from your studies, a project, or a job.
  • Tinker with Arduino/Raspberry Pi type projects.
  • Wired up and used Serial/UART, I²C, SPI, etc., not just read about them.
  • Basic C/C++ (or Arduino) and a bit of Python.
  • English at a professional level.

Nice to have
  • Curiosity about drones, sensors and physical measurements.
  • PCB design/KiCad experience, with signal/noise integrity knowledge.
  • CAD and/or mechanical knowledge.
  • Python for log analysis and quick tooling.

What we offer
  • A permanent, full-time position in a fast-growing greentech company with real-world impact.
  • Competitive benefits including paid pension, health insurance, parental leave and 6 weeks' holiday allowance.
  • Real hardware ownership early on, with a senior engineer to learn from.
  • A flat hierarchy where ideas are heard, initiative is encouraged, and responsibility comes early.
  • A close-knit, supportive team that values collaboration, trust and learning.
  • Work that measurably cuts industrial emissions.

Practical information
  • Application deadline: 1 September 2026
  • Expected start date: 1 October 2026
