About The Role

This is a full-time, 6-month internship within the Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support team in Madrid.

You will be part of our multidisciplinary team of forensic accountants, fraud investigators and corporate intelligence experts, supporting law firms, banks, regulatory bodies and companies in Spain and around the world.

Our team support clients in a wide range of disputes, from claims in the field of public international law to complex commercial, investment, or regulatory disputes that require specialized sector knowledge. We also work in projects that involve corporate intelligence, compliance, data analytics and computer forensics, to undertake investigations related to corporate fraud, whistleblowing, assets tracing, or bribery and corruption allegations, among other.

The projects we work on require us to address issues which often have a critical impact on businesses.

What You'll Do

During this internship, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in:
  • Financial and economic analysis to support the strategy of our clients in their disputes. We usually elaborate expert witness reports of economic content that support the legal claims of our clients, e.g., damage valuations.
  • Assist on the investigation of corporate irregularities, corruption allegations in the private sector, asset misappropriation, regulatory violations, patent and copyright infringement and financial reporting fraud.
  • Support in presentations and reports of financial/compliance nature.
  • Industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information.
  • Gathering and synthesizing operating and financial information about companies and industries.
  • Databases and Internet searches/investigations.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to (i) work hand in hand with highly experienced professionals and (ii) participate in diverse projects with very different characteristics in terms of typology and industry.

How You'll Grow

As a member of this practice, you will be involved in highly complex and high-profile disputes/arbitrations, financial and reputational cases. Working on behalf of corporations, governments, and law firms, each case calls for a team of people with exactly the right expertise and range of financial advisor, forensic accounting, investigative, data analytic, and litigation experience.

What You Will Need to Succeed
  • For this internship, your graduation date must be after January 2023
  • A degree in Business Administration and Management, Economics or a double degree combined with Law is desirable.
  • Excellent academic background
  • Very good understanding and analysis of financial statements
  • Attention to detail and curiosity
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) in a professional environment
  • Fluency in English & Spanish
  • A strong work ethic and a passion for excellence
  • Results-driven, perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities
