Our ‘Women in Trading’ Summer Placement offers female students in their penultimate year of studies a unique opportunity to take their first steps in a career journey with us.
From here, we counteract the under-representation of females within the energy sector, promote greater diversity and adapt to the transforming landscape of opportunities and challenges, from digitalisation to decarbonisation.

- You can gain insights into thisThrough early exposure and practical experience, RWEST aims to empower and inspire future talent, broaden the pipeline of diverse talent, challenge misconceptions about trading, and build confidence and capability. The programme is designed to ensure women can see themselves represented and succeeding in commercial roles across RWEST.
- Our programme highlights the expertise and career journeys of our talented women while demystifying the world of trading and providing a clear insight into a trading career at RWE Supply & Trading. Participants gain an understanding of how energy markets operate, from the fundamentals of supply and demand to the strategies, data, and technologies that underpin modern trading across power, gas, and carbon markets.
- Alongside hands on experience and opportunities to upskill, interactive sessions explore how data and quantitative analysis are turned into real trading decisions. The programme also supports participants to build confidence in a professional environment, develop commercial awareness, and feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to the workplace.

Pre-selection period
Shortly after your application, you will be invited to an online test. After successfully passing the online test as well as our application screening, you will receive an invitation to a pre-recorded video interview. The final step is the assessment centre.
