Center of Gravity is looking for new student assistants

Would you like to work with administrative and practical tasks in an international research environment, with the freedom to interact and provide new ideas to the running of the center?

The Center of Gravity (CoG) at the University of Copenhagen is looking for 2 student assistants to help us with a range of different tasks. Preferred start date 1. September 2026 or as soon as possible.

About the job

The CoG is an exciting workplace with many international researchers and countless events and activities. We are housed in the original historical Niels Bohr Institute building on Blegdamsvej 17.

Below you will find a description of some of the typical tasks, we would need your assistance with.

  • Assist our international researchers and guests by telephone, in person or via email, primarily in English.
  • Update our website, mailing lists and helping us with event communication
  • Helping us out with practicalities for events, meetings and workshops
  • Assist guest researchers with their travel reimbursements
  • Provide ideas and input on new activities, and on outreach initiatives
  • Practical maintenance of our lounge
  • Assist with ordering IT equipment and catering, plus other ad.hoc. assignments

We expect the 2 student assistants to plan their days at the CoG together, so there will be app. two fixed days, where you will be at the CoG, but we are of course flexible in relation to exam periods etc. The employment is on average 15 hours per week.

About you

You are a university level student (preferably minimum 2 year). You are good at structuring your own time and meeting deadlines. You are flexible, responsible and have a drive to solve tasks on your own. You are not afraid to take on routine and practical tasks, and you have good communication skills in English.

Terms of salary and employment

The employment is governed by the provisions of the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Public Employees' Organizations - The State Sector (the OAO-S Collective Agreement), and by the Organizational Agreement for Office Staff, Laboratory Technicians, and IT Employees (HK). Your hourly wage as a Student Assistant is DKK 142.97 per hour (November 2025 level, excluding pension).

The employment is on average 15 hours per week.
