In the BMW Group's in-house lithium-ion battery cell development, a cross-disciplinary team of experts evaluates next-generation technologies at both cell and subcomponent levels. We offer an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to advanced battery research and gain valuable hands-on experience.

What awaits you?
  • You will support analytical and practical activities related to lithium-ion battery cells across their lifecycle, with a focus on Direct Current Internal Resistance (DCIR) behavior.
  • Furthermore, you help investigate DCIR across lifecycle stages such as formation, Middle of Life, and End of Life at different time scales.
  • In addition, you contribute to identifying key drivers behind DCIR increase and assist in developing meaningful explanations.
  • Moreover, you will support collecting and consolidating data from internal platforms and formation test documents.
  • You assist with creating, refining, and maintaining structured visualizations and plots for production documentation.
  • Additionally, you help ensure well-organized documentation and storage of results to enable transparency and traceability.
  • You will also help with handling and transport of battery cells between formation, logistics, and test areas, supporting material flow and coordination.

What should you bring along?
  • Studies in materials science, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Basic knowledge of lithium-ion batteries is an advantage.
  • MATLAB skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset and structured approach to tasks.
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic research environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
