Remote–Hybrid NGO Management Intern — Online Placement | Tanzania (Remote/Hybrid, Erasmus+)

Recognized in 2026 by the Tanzanian Government Prime Minister's Office for Humanitarian Work, and winner of the Community Development, International Volunteering & Sustainable Impact Excellence Award 2026.

Type: Remote internship / volunteer placement (hybrid option available)

Location: Online / remote — AIT is based at Umoja Road, Block 2Q, Madale Village, 30 km from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Duration: Flexible, year-round · join at any point and stay for as long as your schedule allows

Ideal for: development studies, nonprofit management, business, communications (any discipline)

Skills: remote project management, M&E, fundraising, social media, reporting, coordination

About the role

Join an award-winning, customized placement inside a functioning African NGO (founded in 1996) — delivered online, across project management, communications, fundraising, HR and operations. Posts are limited for students who can't attend on-site; a hybrid option is available and encouraged. Supervisors are online every working day: each Monday you get a written work plan, and each Friday you submit a short report that feeds the next week's planning. AIT typically hosts 20–35 students at a time, with about 5–10 on the remote option.

What you'll do

  • Project management & fieldwork: plan and implement community programs, coordinate monitoring visits, and evaluate impact
  • Administration & reporting: operational reports, workshop/event logistics and stakeholder progress updates
  • Communications & marketing: social media, video and blog content, flyers and brochures (50,000+ Facebook reach)
  • Fundraising & development: grant proposals, fundraising campaigns and donor outreach
  • HR & volunteer coordination: support local staff and coordinate international volunteers and interns
  • Research & capacity building: needs assessment, staff/community training and evidence-based impact reporting
  • Optional focus areas: AIT's core programs (Children Under School Age, Human Rights, CSR, Environmental Advocacy, Climate Change Adaptation), the Football Youth Academy, AI in NGO workflows, and revenue-generation for financial sustainability

What you'll gain

  • Real, integrated NGO responsibility across functions — delivered remotely
  • Daily online supervision with a weekly plan-and-report loop
  • A project, comms and fundraising portfolio for your CV or thesis
  • Erasmus+ training-placement funding may cover part or all of your costs
  • For hybrid mode: a Charity Invitation Letter and e-visa guidance
  • A certificate and reference letter on completion
