Tasks

  • Providing high-quality written translations between Japanese and English for Lotcheck-related documentation, reports, correspondence, and other business materials
  • Delivering accurate interpretation support during video conferences, face-to-face meetings, workshops, and occasional business trips
  • Facilitating effective communication between Japanese- and English-speaking stakeholders by ensuring the accurate transfer of meaning, tone, terminology, and context
  • Supporting cross-functional and international collaboration by clarifying terminology, resolving language-related queries, and promoting mutual understanding
  • Maintaining, updating, and continuously improving translation resources, including glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, and translation memories
  • Ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across translated and interpreted content in line with Nintendo's standards and Lotcheck requirements
  • Contributing to smooth internal and external communication related to the testing and evaluation of game applications submitted to Nintendo
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across regions and departments to support business operations and communication needs

Requirements

Degree in translation, interpreting, linguistics, Japanese studies, or a related field, or several years of equivalent professional experience as a translator or interpreter
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese and excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent reading comprehension, writing, proofreading, and editing skills, combined with meticulous attention to detail
  • Open-minded, logical, and proactive working style, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across cultures and regions
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools
  • Ability to research and apply technical, game-related, and company-specific terminology accurately and consistently
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines reliably
  • High sense of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive business information
  • Experience with memoQ or other CAT tools and translation memory systems
