You could say astronomers have their heads in the stars... literally! Top-class scientists, astronomers study the stars, planets and galaxies to help us better understand the universe we live in.
Fun fact
It might sound poetic, but it’s true: we’re all made of stardust. According to a number of studies, 97% of the atoms we’re made of (carbon, oxygen, iron, nitrogen, calcium, etc.) originate from within stars that disintegrated and whose dust collected on the surface of the Earth during its formation around 4 billion years ago. So if you’re ever feeling down, remember – we’re all made of stars!
