When you find out a third of the food we eat depends on the pollinating activities of bees, it makes you want to take care of them. And that’s exactly what beekeepers do!
Fun fact
At the request of the Pentagon, American scientists have “trained” bees to sniff out certain materials, like explosives and drugs, as well as certain diseases, like tuberculosis. Indeed, scientists have taken advantage of the extraordinary sense of smell and impressive memory these charming little creatures possess. They can only detect one scent at a time, though, so they won’t be putting sniffer dogs out of work just yet... incredible!
