Often working in the shadows, publishers are book professionals. It’s thanks to them we have the novels, cookbooks and school textbooks we all know and love, whether on paper or in digital formats.
Fun fact
Before being spotted by Bloomsbury publishing house, J.K. Rowling received no less than 14 rejection letters for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. “It doesn’t meet our needs”, “it’s too long for a children’s novel”... And yet to date, the Harry Potter series has sold over 500 million copies in 140 different countries. And some publishers are still kicking themselves.
