Fun fact
In 1494, Italian mathematician and “father of accounting” Luca Pacioli was the first person to write a book about the double-entry system of bookkeeping entitled “Summa de Arithmetica, Geometria, Proportioni et Proportionalita”. In the book, he writes that you “mustn’t sleep until debits are equal to credits”.
