Whether something moves at a slow trot or a fast gallop, it’s all about what’s under the bonnet. From initial design to production, these engineers develop engines for vehicles of all kinds (planes, cars, motorbikes, satellites...).

Fun fact
Why do we always mention horses when talking about engine power? The expression dates back to the invention of the steam engine. In the late 18th century, people had to compare this new type of locomotion with something people already understood. Engineer James Watt came up with an intriguing new unit: horsepower. Nowadays, we use Watt to measure the power of engines, but horsepower still remains!
