Environmental disasters can be devastating. And despite technical and legislative achievements, the risks have not entirely disappeared. However, while 117 oils spills were recorded in 1974, there were “just” three in 2019. Thanks to the international measures taken since 1978 following the Amoco Cadiz disaster, the numbers have continued to decline. Almost there!
