When we think about oil, we often think about petrol. But did you know that chewing gum also comes from oil? Chewing gum is made up of over a hundred different chemical ingredients, including polymers derived from oil. The manufacturing process is similar to the one used to make rubber for tyres. So it’s probably not surprising to learn that Goodyear, the tyre manufacturer, also produces the raw materials for Freedent chewing gum. Yummy.
