One ATP – two branches of business

ATP has several subareas, but we generally divide the organisation into two main business areas: Pension & Investments and the Processing Business.

Pensions & Investments

Almost all citizens in Denmark are members of ATP. Each month, both members and their employers contribute to ATP Livslang Pension (Lifelong Pension), which we, in Pensions & Investments manage and invest.

Our investment portfolio is broad and consists of bonds, stocks, real estate and infrastructure projects. In fact, we are among the largest pension funds in Europe.

ATP Livslang Pension (Lifelong Pension) is a guaranteed pension product. Members are guaranteed a monthly payment for life from the day they retire.

Processing Business 

ATP’s Processing Business carries out assignments on behalf of the Danish central government, municipalities, and social partners. We work to ensure an efficient welfare system by ensuring that citizens receive the benefits they are eligible for – efficiently and on time.

Our responsibilities include the collection and disbursement of benefits such as state pensions, holiday pay, rent subsidies and maternity/paternity benefits.

Two out of every three Danish welfare kroner is distributed by ATP.
