Type: Internship / volunteer placement

Location: Madale Village, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

About the role

Join an award-winning program and turn sustainability theory into real impact. This is hands-on fieldwork across solar power, clean water, sanitation, composting, and tree/bamboo nurseries — paired with climate change advocacy and community education that builds long-term resilience. Practical, visible, community-led work where it counts.

What you'll do

  • Lead climate change advocacy — awareness campaigns, community outreach and grassroots engagement
  • Advocate for low-cost sanitation solutions (dry toilets, bio-filter systems)
  • Deliver household sustainability: solar, water purification and composting
  • Run community climate-education sessions, including in schools
  • Establish and maintain tree and bamboo nurseries, and lead planting drives
  • Support eco-tourism and conservation initiatives
  • Carry out thesis or research work linked to your studies (optional)

What you'll gain

  • End-to-end sustainability delivery experience across energy, water and sanitation
  • Climate change advocacy and community climate-education skills
  • Tangible, portfolio-ready outcomes for your CV or thesis
  • Erasmus+ eligibility, with full support for your learning agreement
  • A certificate and reference letter on completion
