The House of Dior stepped into the light on February 12, 1947. From its first Haute Couture collection arose a new triumphant femininity called the New Look. To escort these avant-garde silhouettes, Christian Dior had the perfumer Paul Vacher create a modern and sophisticated fragrance: Miss Dior. "Make me a fragrance that smells like love," he asked.

In just ten years, from 1947 to 1957, Christian Dior would revolutionize the codes of elegance and femininity, designing collections as dreams and enchantments. The would-be architect offered women his vision of beauty through elegant silhouettes, ultimately becoming synonymous with French luxury throughout the world.

Today, this visionary spirit continues to be expressed within two distinct but complementary entities: Parfums Christian Dior (Fragrance, Makeup, Skincare) and Christian Dior Couture (Haute Couture, Ready-to-Wear, Leather Goods, Shoes, Accessories, Jewelry, Timepieces).


  • Since Miss Dior, the success of Dior fragrances has not wavered, thanks in part to their sphere of influence and the use of noble materials. To date, Dior has created more than 60 fragrances. Since October 2021, the French creator Francis Kurkdjian has succeeded François Demachy as Perfume Creation Director. He will lead the creation of the Maison’s fragrances as he is considered as one of the main key players in the world of fragrances today.
