From Classroom to Code: Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators

60 students, 30 robot cars, and one mission: bridging the skills gap through hands-on learning.

The Ernest Solvay Fund believes that innovation starts in the classroom. Through our support of initiatives in STEM, Planet Progress, and Better Life, we aim to empower the communities where we live and work.

Recently, our 2025 awardee ThinkYoung brought this mission to life at Collège Notre-Dame de la Paix Erpent. It was a day of robotics and digital discovery that went far beyond building "owl cars" and programming sensors. It was about watching students collaborate, troubleshoot, and think on their feet.

The energy was contagious as they moved from basic assembly to coding autonomous cars, proving just how much talent is waiting to be unlocked when given the right tools.

To keep that momentum, several robotic kits were donated to the school’s STEM lab, ensuring students and teachers have the resources to keep exploring and creating every day.
