Thales might not be a name most of the public would recognize (or easily pronounce – it’s “ta-les” if you were unsure), but it’s one of the largest defence and aerospace firms in the world !
Thales is a partner of the Student Aerospace Challenge proposed by the European Astronaut Club (ACE).
This event allows teams of students to participate in the development of an ambitious project: working on different aspects (propulsion, avionics, maintenance, management, legal issues, ...) the development of a Manned Suborbital Vehicle (MSV).
This year the Thales prize was awarded to a team of ISAE-ENSICA for their excellent study on the avionics of MSV.
Each year, Thales devotes a day to its trainees, apprentices and PhD students. On June 4 2009, hundreds of representatives of the Group have thus met nearly 700 students and thirty French and foreign schools and universities to present activities, jobs and opportunities at Thales.
YES (Young Society Employees) aims to develop teamwork, facilitate communication, stimulate dialogue with managers to allow members, young employees of the Group, to exchange ideas and integrate in the group.
