An intern is not compensated in the same way as an employee, but may receive an internship allowance.
This allowance is only mandatory for internships lasting more than two consecutive months. Its amount is regulated by law and remains significantly lower than the cost of a traditional hire, as it is largely exempt from social security contributions.
